Description
The BECKHOFF BK9105 is an EtherNet/IP Bus Coupler designed to connect EtherNet/IP networks to the modular Beckhoff Bus Terminals. Acting as the head station of an electronic terminal block, the coupler converts telegrams from the higher-level fieldbus system into the bit-level signals of the internal Bus Terminals. The BK9105 features an integrated 2-channel switch with two RJ45 interfaces, enabling implementation in line topologies without requiring additional external switches.
This bus coupler supports up to 64 Bus Terminals directly, which can be expanded up to 255 terminals using K-bus extension technology. It handles up to 492 bytes of input data and 492 bytes of output data over EtherNet/IP. Configuration and parameterization of the connected I/O stations are managed via the KS2000 configuration software or through the controller using standard configuration tools. The unit is powered by a 24 V DC supply and provides internal current to the K-bus to support connected system terminals.

Installation Guidelines
- Ensure all power supplies are switched off and isolated before beginning installation or wiring work.
- Verify that the mounting rail is securely installed and free from debris.
- Mount the BECKHOFF BK9105 Bus Coupler onto the DIN rail by clipping it into position according to mechanical layout guidelines.
- Attach downstream Bus Terminals in the correct sequence, ensuring the K-bus connections and power contacts latch properly.
- Connect the 24 V DC power supply and system ground to the designated terminals, verifying voltage levels and polarity.
- Connect the Ethernet cables to the RJ45 ports for integration into the EtherNet/IP network.
- Power on the system and verify operational status via the diagnostic LEDs before commissioning the network configuration.
