Description

The BECKHOFF CX1010-0000 is a compact, DIN-rail mounted Basic CPU Module designed as the core processing unit of the modular CX1010 Embedded PC system. Equipped with a 500 MHz processor compatible with the Intel Pentium MMX architecture, this module provides an energy-efficient and highly reliable industrial computing platform for mid-range PLC, motion control, and visualization applications.

The CX1010-0000 is supplied as a hardware-only base unit without a pre-installed operating system or TwinCAT runtime environment. This configuration offers automation engineers the flexibility to load custom operating system images or deploy tailored control software configurations. It includes an integrated Compact Flash Type II card slot equipped with a 128 MB card for non-volatile storage, alongside 256 MB of non-expandable on-board DDR RAM.

Physical communication and network integration are provided by a single RJ45 Ethernet port supporting speeds of 10/100 Mbit/s. To build out functional industrial I/O, the CX1010-0000 interfaces with an associated CX1100-xxxx series power supply module through its integrated 16-bit ISA system bus, facilitating communication with K-bus Bus Terminals or E-bus EtherCAT Terminals.

Installation Guidelines

1. Ensure all electrical power to the system enclosure and DIN rail is de-energized before mounting or modifying connections.
2. Install the CX1010-0000 basic CPU module on a standard 35 mm DIN rail (EN 60715) within an IP20-rated enclosure.
3. Mechanically align and connect the CPU module to an adjacent, compatible CX1100-xxxx power supply unit to supply operational power and enable functional I/O buses.
4. Ensure the system bus connectors (PC/104 interface) are cleanly engaged before snapping the units firmly onto the DIN rail.
5. Connect the network interface using standard RJ45 Ethernet cabling. Ensure proper grounding and shielding guidelines are observed to avoid electrical interference.
6. Verify that the Compact Flash card is fully seated in the slot prior to initial power-up.
