32000-28-05-00-120-03-02: Metric proximity probe housing assembly designed for radially mounted eddy-current transducers, configured with a 3300 XL 8 mm probe featuring multiple agency approvals and a 0.5 m cable.
The 32000 Series proximity probe housing assemblies are recommended when mounting proximity probes through the machine casing. These assemblies are typically utilized for shaft vibration, axial position, or Keyphasor measurements on rotating machinery. By using this housing, engineers obtain direct external access to the proximity probe and extension cable, facilitating effortless gap adjustment or probe replacement without requiring complex machine disassembly. Constructed from glass-reinforced polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) conductive thermoplastic, the housing offers outstanding chemical and corrosion resistance, while the accompanying sleeve elements are made of corrosion-resistant stainless steel. The housing assembly is fully compliant with the American Petroleum Institute (API) 670 Standard for externally mounted proximity probe housings.
This metric proximity probe housing assembly is suitable for monitoring applications in heavy industries such as power generation, oil and gas, petrochemical, and mining. Typical applications include radial shaft vibration measurements, axial shaft position monitoring, and Keyphasor phase reference measurements on steam turbines, gas turbines, compressors, pumps, and other high-speed rotating machinery.

Ensure the machine casing is securely affixed to the bearing housing when using this housing assembly to measure radial shaft vibration, to prevent casing movement from introducing signal errors. For shaft axial position measurements using dual proximity probes, use the 21022 dual-probe housing instead of the 32000 assembly. Adjust the probe gap through the external sleeve access prior to tightening the outer retaining nut to a recommended torque of 29.4 N-m (260 in-lb). Grounding liners should be installed to prevent electrical noise, and the outer sleeve must be properly threaded and sealed with appropriate thread sealant to maintain casing pressure boundary integrity.
This assembly is fully compliant with API 670 standards. When installed in conjunction with an approved transducer system and appropriate intrinsically safe barriers, the housing assembly is suitable for intrinsically safe hazardous area applications. BASEEFA certified for low and high temperature mechanical impact tests. CSA certified for ambient temperature impact tests.
