To ensure precise and maintenance-free measurement loops, adhere to the following standard engineering procedures:

• Verify the target material is AISI 4140 steel, as the standard 3300 XL transducer system is factory-calibrated to this alloy. If using alternative shaft alloys, a custom recalibration of the Proximitor sensor is necessary.
• Thread the probe into the mounting bracket or casing wall manually first to prevent cross-threading. Tighten to a standard torque of 7.5 N-m (66 in-lbf) and lock in place using a jam nut.
• Establish the target probe gap (typically 1.27 mm or 50 mils) by monitoring the DC voltage output from the Proximitor sensor (target gap reads -10 Vdc on a standard calibration curve).
