Ensure correct mechanical gapping during installation. The nominal gap is 1.27 mm (50 mils), which corresponds to -10 Vdc output from the associated Proximitor sensor. Use locknuts to secure the probe body in place. Avoid exceeding 1.5 times the nominal thread diameter for thread engagement (maximum 0.563 inches for 3/8-24 threads). Run the armored cable with a minimum bend radius of 25.4 mm (1.0 inch). Ground the extension cable shield at the Proximitor end only to avoid ground loops.
