Description

Option 00 (0 mm unthreaded length) and Option 02 (ClickLoc connector, standard cable, no connector protector) specify this 3300 XL 8 mm armored metric probe configuration — 330104-00-07-10-02-00. This eddy-current proximity probe features an M10 x 1 metric thread with stainless steel armor for physical protection in demanding environments. The total length is 1.0 meter, and there are no hazardous area agency approvals requested for this configuration.

This configuration differs from its sibling variants, such as the unarmored 330103, by incorporating a flexible stainless steel armor over the 75-ohm coaxial cable. In contrast to the unarmored probes, the armored design provides enhanced resistance to mechanical damage, abrasion, and harsh operating conditions. It interfaces with the 3300 XL Proximitor Sensor and is used for non-contact shaft vibration and axial position measurements in rotating machinery.

Features

  • Option 00 specifies a 0 mm unthreaded length for flush-mounting or minimal clearance installations.
  • Option 07 provides a 70 mm overall case length with an M10 x 1 metric thread.
  • Option 10 provides a 1.0 meter (3.3 feet) total probe and cable length.
  • Option 02 provides a miniature coaxial ClickLoc connector with standard FEP insulated cable.
  • Option 00 designates that no agency approvals are required for this configuration.
  • Flexible stainless steel armor covers the cable to prevent mechanical wear and physical damage.
  • Polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) tip material allows operating temperatures from -52 degC to +177 degC.

Applications

  • Vibration monitoring and position measurement on gas and steam turbines.
  • Shaft dynamic displacement and axial position monitoring in industrial compressors and pumps.
  • Machinery protection systems in power generation, petrochemical, and oil and gas facilities.
  • Radial vibration and eccentricity measurements in hydrodynamic bearing machines.

Installation Guidelines

When installing the proximity probe, verify that the thread size matches the mounting location thread (M10 x 1). Maintain a minimum cable bend radius of 25.4 mm (1.0 in) to prevent coaxial cable degradation. Ensure that the total torque applied to the probe case does not exceed 33.9 N-m (300 in-lbf); Bently Nevada recommends a tightening torque of 22.6 N-m (200 in-lbf) for metric standard forward-mount probes. When connecting the miniature ClickLoc connector to the extension cable, make the connection finger-tight to secure the lock mechanism.
