Description

Option 02 (0.2 in unthreaded length) and Option 12 (1.2 in overall case length) specify this 330105-02-12-10-12-05 reverse mount eddy-current proximity probe, a member of the Bently Nevada 3300 XL 8 mm transducer family. This configuration has a total length of 1.0 meter (Option 10) and features a FluidLoc coaxial cable with a miniature ClickLoc connector (Option 12), backed by international hazardous area approvals under Option 05.

The reverse mount design uses standard 3/8-24 UNF-2A threads, placing the hex flange on the cable side of the installation sleeve to facilitate space-restricted mounting where standard probes cannot be easily installed or adjusted from the front. The integration of FluidLoc cable technology prevents fluid leakage or migration along the inside of the cable jacket under pressure, making it useful in applications where oil or other liquids might otherwise escape past the machine seal. This probe works with a 3300 XL Proximitor sensor and an extension cable to measure radial vibration, axial position, or speed on rotating machinery.

Features

  • Option 02 specifies a fixed 0.2-inch (5 mm) unthreaded length.
  • Option 12 specifies a fixed 1.2-inch (30 mm) threaded case length.
  • Option 10 provides a 1.0-meter (3.3 feet) overall length.
  • Option 12 integrates a FluidLoc cable to block fluid migration through the cable core.
  • Option 05 designates CSA, ATEX, and IECEx hazardous area approvals.
  • Reverse mount body style allows installation through a sleeve or behind a bracket.
  • ClickLoc miniature coaxial connector secures the link to the extension cable.

Applications

  • Sleeve-mount setups on fluid-film bearing housings with oil seals.
  • Vibration and position monitoring on steam turbines, compressors, and pumps.
  • Machinery protection systems requiring pressure-tight cable feedthroughs.
  • Class I Division 1 and Zone 0/1 hazardous areas.

Connections and Interfaces

Connection Description
Probe Connector Miniature coaxial male ClickLoc connector (gold-plated brass or gold-plated beryllium copper)
Connector-to-Connector Torque Finger-tight (recommended)

Installation Guidelines

Reverse mount probes must be installed using a compatible reverse mount sleeve or behind a mounting bracket. Thread engagement is limited to a maximum of 0.563 inches (14.3 mm) to prevent binding or thread damage. Ensure the Viton O-ring is properly positioned if sealing is required. Route the FluidLoc cable carefully to avoid sharp bends, keeping a minimum bend radius of 25.4 mm (1.0 inch). Connectors should be hand-tightened; using pliers is not recommended for two gold ClickLoc connectors.

Technical Datasheet

Bently Nevada 330105-02-12-10-12-05 3300 XL Reverse Mount Proximity Probe

What is the purpose of the FluidLoc cable option on this probe?

The FluidLoc cable option (Option 12) uses an internal sealant to prevent oil or other machinery fluids from migrating through the inside of the coaxial cable, providing a fluid-tight barrier.

How does the reverse mount design of the probe affect installation?

The reverse mount design features a 3/8-24 UNF thread and a hexagonal nut on the cable side, enabling the probe to be installed and adjusted from the outside of the machine casing through a dedicated sleeve.

What is the total length and configuration of this model?

This probe (330105-02-12-10-12-05) has a fixed 0.2-inch unthreaded length, 1.2-inch overall case length, 1.0-meter total cable length, and standard CSA, ATEX, and IECEx approvals.

What target material is required for proper calibration?

This transducer system is calibrated standard to an AISI 4140 steel target. Calibration accuracy and scale factor may vary if used with other target materials.
