This self-contained proximity transducer assembly combines the sensor probe sleeve and its associated Proximitor sensor inside the housing cover. This integrated design eliminates the need for an external extension cable and separate Proximitor sensor housing, allowing direct field wiring connections between the machinery protection monitors and the transducer assembly. The thermoplastic housing, manufactured from glass-reinforced polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) with conductive fibers, is rated for Type 4X and IP66 environments to withstand harsh, corrosive industrial applications.

Installation Guidelines

To ensure precise performance and long-term environmental protection, follow these industrial installation guidelines:

• Probe Sleeve Mounting: Thread the outer sleeve into the machine casing using the 3/4-14 NPT threads. Ensure proper thread sealant is applied to prevent lubrication oil leakage.
• Standoff Adapter: Connect the 80 mm standoff adapter to the outer sleeve. It provides the necessary mechanical clearance and axial rigidity.
• Gapping and Adjustment: Loosen the locknut and adjust the threaded sleeve externally to establish the correct probe gap (typically centered at -10.0 Vdc or 1.27 mm / 50 mils from target). Tighten the sleeve locknut to 39.3 N-m (350 in-lb) once set.
• Field Wiring Routing: Connect the field wiring cable directly to the integrated Proximitor terminal strip inside the housing cover. Use the M20 conduit entry fitting to route wires safely and maintain the IP66 seal.
• Grounding: Ensure the internal stainless steel grounding liner is connected to a clean, noise-free instrument ground. Do not ground the cable shield at both ends.
