Description

Option 05 (5.0 mm unthreaded length) and Option 30 (30 mm case length) specify this metric M10x1 threaded configuration — 330907-05-30-05-02-05, a 3300 NSv reverse mount proximity probe. This non-contact eddy-current displacement sensor is designed specifically for tight clearances and reduced target areas in high-speed rotating machinery, offering an average scale factor of 7.87 V/mm (200 mV/mil) over a 1.5 mm (60 mils) linear range. Because it is a reverse-mount model, it is designed to be installed from the rear side of a machine housing or bulkhead, making it ideal for small-bore applications, aeroderivative gas turbines, and installations where access to the target area is highly restricted.

Unlike standard-mount 3300 NSv probes (such as the 330905) which thread from the front and support protective armor, this reverse-mount configuration does not support armor or connector protectors. It comes equipped with a 0.5-meter (20 inches) standard unarmored FEP-insulated coaxial cable and a miniature coaxial ClickLoc connector. Certified under Option 05 for hazardous area approvals, this probe is fully compatible with the 330980 Proximitor Sensor and 330930 extension cables to form a complete 5-meter or 7-meter transducer system.

Features

  • M10x1 threaded probe body made of AISI 304 stainless steel with a high-durability polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) tip.
  • Option 05 unthreaded length provides a 5.0 mm unthreaded segment to fit specific machine bulkhead mounting envelopes.
  • Option 30 case length provides a compact 30 mm overall case length designed for reverse-mount insertion.
  • Option 05 total length provides a 0.5-meter (20 inches) FEP-insulated coaxial probe cable with 75-ohm impedance.
  • Option 02 connector comes terminated with a miniature male coaxial ClickLoc connector for secure, twist-locking connection.
  • Option 05 agency approval includes multiple international approvals (CSA, ATEX, IECEx) for intrinsically safe installations.
  • ClickLoc connectors are gold-plated brass to resist corrosion and maintain solid contact in high-vibration industrial environments.
  • TipLoc molding process creates a molecular bond between the PPS tip and the stainless steel case, preventing separation.
  • CableLoc design provides up to 220 N (50 lb) of pull-strength resistance at the probe-to-cable junction.

Applications

  • Shaft vibration and axial position measurements in small-bore machinery.
  • Aeroderivative gas turbines and auxiliary equipment where target geometry is limited.
  • High-speed compressors, pumps, and gearboxes with tight clearance envelopes.
  • Restricted-access retrofits where front-access standard probe installation is impossible.

Installation Guidelines

  • Thread Engagement: Reverse-mount probes must be threaded carefully from the rear of the bracket or bulkhead. Maximum recommended thread engagement for M10x1 threads is 15 mm.
  • Torque Specifications: For M10x1 reverse-mount probe cases, the recommended installation torque is 7.5 N-m (66 in-lb), with a maximum rated torque of 22.6 N-m (200 in-lb).
  • Cable Bend Radius: Observe the minimum bend radius of 25.4 mm (1.0 inch) for the FEP-insulated coaxial cable to prevent shielding degradation.
  • Connector Handling: Clean connectors with a lint-free swab and isopropyl alcohol before mating. Connection should be finger tight; maximum recommended mating torque is 0.56 N-m (5 in-lb) to prevent damage to the miniature coaxial ClickLoc threads.
  • Grounding: Ensure the transducer system is grounded properly through the monitor backplane. The probe shield is isolated from the case.

Compliance and Certifications

  • ATEX/IECEx: Ex ia IIC T5...T1 Ga / Ex ia IIIC T90C...T280C Dc / Ex nA IIC T5...T1 Gc / Ex ec IIC T5...T1 Gc
  • CSA/NRTL: Class I, Zone 0, Class I, Div 1, Groups A, B, C, D; Class I, Div 2, Groups A, B, C, D
  • CE Mark: Compliant with EMC Directive 2014/30/EU and RoHS Directive 2011/65/EU

Technical Datasheet

Bently Nevada 330907-05-30-05-02-05 3300 NSv Reverse Mount Probe

What does the 05 unthreaded and 30 case option mean for this probe?

The 05 option specifies a 5.0 mm unthreaded probe tip length, while the 30 option specifies a 30 mm overall case length. These are fixed dimensions optimized for reverse-mount installations where space is severely restricted.

Does the 330907-05-30-05-02-05 probe support stainless steel armor?

No. According to Bently Nevada documentation, reverse-mount probes (such as the 330907) are not available with armor or connector protector options.

What is the thread size of the 330907-05-30-05-02-05 probe?

This probe features standard M10x1 metric threads, distinguishing it from the 330906 probe which uses 3/8-24 UNF threads.

Is this probe approved for hazardous area installations?

Yes. The -05 agency approval option signifies multiple hazardous area approvals, including CSA, ATEX, and IECEx for intrinsically safe and non-incendive environments.

What system components are compatible with this reverse-mount probe?

This probe is compatible with the 3300 XL NSv Proximitor Sensor (330980) and the 3300 NSv Extension Cable (330930) to achieve a total system length of either 5.0 or 7.0 meters.
