Description

Fully threaded 3/8-24 UNF steel probe body (Option 00) with a 3.6-inch overall case length (Option 36) and a 0.5-meter total probe length (Option 05) specifies this exact 330908-00-36-05-02-05-05 3300 NSv Proximity Probe configuration. Used in compact machinery applications with restricted installation space or small shaft targets, this proximity probe provides non-contact displacement measurements for critical shaft vibration and axial position parameters.

This unarmored base configuration (330908) includes a miniature coaxial ClickLoc connector on standard FEP-insulated cable (Option 02) and is built with multiple international hazardous area certifications (Option 05). Designed to pair with the Bently Nevada 330930 extension cable and the 330980 Proximitor sensor, this transducer system is used where standard 8 mm probes are too large, or where machinery geometries present severe counterbore restrictions.

Features

  • Fully threaded 3/8-24 UNF-2A body (Option 00 unthreaded length) ensuring maximum mounting flexibility.
  • 3.6-inch overall case length (Option 36) providing the rigid depth required for deep-seated machine casing installations.
  • 0.5-meter (20-inch) total probe length (Option 05) reducing intermediate cabling slack in close-coupled installations.
  • Miniature coaxial ClickLoc connector (Option 02) establishing a solid, low-noise connection with the system extension cable.
  • Multiple hazardous area approvals (Option 05) certifying the transducer for intrinsically safe and non-incendive zones.
  • High-stability polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) tip construction with a 3.2 mm diameter optimized for tight targets and small shafts.

Applications

  • Centrifugal compressors and high-speed pumps with shaft diameters smaller than 30 mm.
  • Aeroderivative gas turbine vibration and thrust position monitoring.
  • Industrial machinery installations where tight mechanical clearances or narrow counterbores restrict standard probe sizes.
  • Auxiliary rotating machinery requiring reliable non-contact eddy-current shaft displacement tracking.

Installation Guidelines

  • Set the probe-to-target gap to 1.0 mm (40 mils) to establish the -9.0 Vdc nominal bias center point of the linear range.
  • Ensure that thread tightening torque on the 3/8-24 UNF-2A stainless steel body is kept within recommended engineering limits to prevent threads from seizing or stripping.
  • Maintain recommended bend radiuses when routing the 75 ohm coaxial FEP-insulated probe cable; do not pinch or expose cable to high-abrasion surfaces.
  • When installing multiple probes, maintain a minimum tip separation of 25 mm (1.0 in) for axial position or 23 mm (0.9 in) for radial vibration to prevent electromagnetic cross-talk.
  • Protect the ClickLoc connector from machine oils and contaminants; applying a connector protector or silicone self-fusing tape (Bently catalog number 03200006) is recommended for external routing.

Compliance and Certifications

  • EMC Directive 2014/30/EU (EN 61000-6-2 and EN 61000-6-4)
  • RoHS Directive 2011/65/EU and China RoHS EFUP 15 years
  • Functional Safety: SIL 2 (HFT = 0) and SIL 3 (HFT = 1) capability
  • ATEX/IECEx: Ex ia IIC T5...T1 Ga for Zone 0 installations; Ex ec/nA IIC T5...T1 Gc for Zone 2 installations
