Description

An unarmored 3/8-24 UNF threaded probe body featuring a 2.1 in unthreaded length (Option 21), a 3.5 in overall case length (Option 35), and a 1.0 m total length (Option 10) specifies this 330908-21-35-10-02-00 3300 NSv proximity probe configuration. This non-contact eddy-current displacement sensor is designed specifically for tight clearances and reduced target areas where standard 8 mm probes cannot fit. The 3300 NSv series operates as a direct interface with high-speed, small-bore machinery components, offering precise dynamic and static measurements of shaft vibration and axial position.

Compared to the armored 330909 variant, this unarmored configuration offers greater flexibility in clean conduit paths and tight installation environments. The coaxial cable is terminated with a gold-plated miniature ClickLoc connector (Option 02) to maintain a secure mechanical connection and electrical signal integrity with a 330930 extension cable and a 330980 Proximitor sensor. This specific model is configured with no hazardous area approvals (Option 00), making it suitable for standard safe-area industrial machinery applications.

Features

  • Option 21 unthreaded length of 2.1 inches on a 3.5 inches overall case length (Option 35)
  • Option 10 total system length of 1.0 meter (39 in) standard coaxial cable
  • Option 02 miniature coaxial ClickLoc connector with gold plating and no connector protector
  • Unarmored 3/8-24 UNF-2A threaded stainless steel (AISI 304) case design
  • Polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) probe tip material for chemical resistance in compressor applications
  • CableLoc design providing up to 220 N (50 lb) of pull strength between cable and probe tip

Applications

  • Shaft radial vibration and position monitoring in small-bore machinery
  • Axial position measurements in aeroderivative gas turbines
  • Speed and phase reference sensing on high-speed rotating equipment with limited target geometry
  • Fluid film bearing clearance measurements in industrial compressors and pumps

Installation Guidelines

To ensure precise displacement measurements, maintain a minimum probe gap of 1.0 mm (40 mils) representing the center of the 1.5 mm linear range. Secure the probe using appropriate mounting brackets or threaded ports with a torque not exceeding 11.3 N-m (100 in-lb) for 3/8-24 threaded cases. Do not exceed the maximum allowable thread engagement length of 0.563 inches to prevent case binding during assembly. Avoid bending the 75 ohm coaxial probe cable beyond its minimum bend radius of 25.4 mm (1.0 in). Standard ClickLoc connectors must be hand-tightened; do not exceed a maximum connector torque of 0.56 N-m (5 in-lb) to prevent damage to the gold-plated miniature fittings.

Bently Nevada 330908-21-35-10-02-00 3300 NSv Proximity Probe

What configuration does the 330908-21-35-10-02-00 proximity probe specify?

This probe configuration features a 2.1-inch unthreaded length, 3.5-inch overall case length, a 1.0-meter total cable length, an unarmored standard FEP coaxial cable, a gold-plated miniature ClickLoc connector, and requires no hazardous area agency approvals.

How does the unthreaded length affect the installation of this probe?

The 2.1-inch unthreaded length (Option A: 21) reduces the threaded engagement area on the 3.5-inch case (Option B: 35), leaving 1.4 inches of threaded body. This configuration is ideal for deep-well mounting brackets or through-wall ports where complete thread engagement is not desired.

Which system components are compatible with this NSv probe?

This probe is fully compatible with the Bently Nevada 330930 extension cable and the 330980 Proximitor sensor in a 3300 XL NSv Transducer System.

What is the recommended installation torque for this probe case?

For this 3/8-24 UNF threaded probe case, the recommended installation torque is 11.3 N-m (100 in-lb), with a maximum rated limit of 33.9 N-m (300 in-lb).
