Product Overview

The 330909-00-99-10-02-00 (3300 NSv) is a specialized eddy-current proximity transducer designed for industrial machinery with high-density installation requirements, such as centrifugal air compressors and refrigeration units. As part of the Narrow Side View (NSv) family, this probe is engineered for applications where standard sensors encounter physical restrictions like counterbores or limited side-view clearance. The 330909-00-99-10-02-00 provides critical radial vibration and axial position data for fluid-filmed bearing machines, featuring enhanced chemical resistance and superior side-view characteristics compared to legacy RAM and 3000-series sensors. Its robust construction, including integrated stainless steel armor, ensures long-term reliability in harsh environments, effectively reducing unplanned downtime through high-fidelity machinery diagnostics.

Suffix Configuration Breakdown

The model number 330909-00-99-10-02-00 specifies a highly customized hardware configuration:

  • 330909: Identifies the 3300 NSv Proximity Probe with 3/8-24 UNF threads and integrated stainless steel armor.

  • 00 (Unthreaded Length Option): Specifies a 0.0 inch unthreaded length.

  • 99 (Overall Case Length Option): Indicates a maximum case length of 9.9 inches.

  • 10 (Total Length Option): Specifies a 1.0 meter (39 inch) total probe length.

  • 02 (Connector and Cable-Type Option): Equipped with a miniature coaxial ClickLoc connector and standard cable.

  • 00 (Agency Approval Option): Standard version with no specific hazardous area approvals required.

Asset Reliability FAQs

Can this NSv probe replace my older 3000-series 190 transducer? Yes. The 3300 XL NSv system is designed to replace both 3300 RAM and 3000-series/7000-series 190 systems. Note that when upgrading from a 3000-series system, you must replace the probe, extension cable, and Proximitor Sensor simultaneously.

What are the limitations of the "Narrow Side View" design? While superior in tight spaces, the NSv series has a shorter linear range (1.5 mm) compared to standard Bently Nevada 3300 XL 5 mm or 8 mm systems. It is specifically optimized for targets smaller than 15 mm or shafts smaller than 51 mm.

Is it necessary to use connector protectors with the ClickLoc system? Connector protectors are highly recommended as they prevent liquids and environmental contaminants from entering the ClickLoc interface, which could otherwise degrade the electrical signal. For applications involving turbine oil, silicone tape is not a suitable substitute for these protectors.

Field Engineering and Installation Directives

  • Torque Specifications: For 3/8-24 threaded cases, the maximum rated torque is 33.9 N-m (300 in-lb). For the first three threads of engagement, use a reduced recommended torque of 7.5 N-m (66 in-lb) to avoid stripping.

  • Mounting Depth Limits: The maximum length of thread engagement for a 3/8-24 probe is 0.563 inches. Exceeding this limit can cause mechanical binding during installation and will void the Bently Nevada warranty.

  • Signal Integrity: Ensure the ClickLoc connectors are "clicked" firmly into place. The gold-plated contacts and patented CableLoc design provide 220 N of pull strength to prevent accidental disconnection during high-vibration operation.

  • Gap Voltage Target: Proximitor Sensors are factory-calibrated to AISI 4140 steel. For precise measurement, the probe should be gapped at 1.0 mm (40 mils), typically resulting in a -10 Vdc bias point in the center of the linear range.
