Description

The Emerson AMS 2140 (previously offered as the CSI 2140) Machinery Health Analyzer is a portable vibration analyzer and data collection unit designed for machinery diagnostics and predictive maintenance programs. The device acquires simultaneous four-channel vibration plus phase measurements, routing data, and transient signals across industrial plant assets. Equipped with patented PeakVue processing, it detects stress waves to identify early-stage bearing and gearbox degradation prior to mechanical failure.

The CSI 2140 connects to dynamic vibration sensors, accelerometers, velocity probes, flux coils, and process voltage signals. It features integrated analysis tools for route-based collection, transient monitoring, cross-channel phase analysis, operational deflection shape (ODS) modal testing, dynamic field balancing, and motor current signature analysis (MCSA). Data can be transferred via USB 2.0, Ethernet, or integrated wireless 802.11 b/g to AMS Suite: Machinery Health Manager for plant-wide asset health monitoring.

Features

  • Simultaneous four-channel dynamic signal and phase data collection
  • Embedded PeakVue and PeakVue Plus processing for early bearing and gear fault detection
  • Frequency analysis range extending from DC to 80 kHz with a 24-bit A/D converter
  • 151 x 115 mm color TFT resistive touchscreen with auto light sensor and backlit tactile keypad
  • Data transfer options including USB 2.0, 100 m Ethernet, and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g
  • Pre-configured Analysis Experts for automated test set up and diagnostic execution
  • In-field capability for dynamic balancing, motor current analysis, transient analysis, and cross-channel testing
  • IP65 sealed enclosure rated for industrial environments and hazardous area operation

Applications

  • Route-based vibration monitoring on industrial motors, pumps, and fans
  • Bearing and gearbox defect diagnosis using peak detection processing
  • Transient monitoring during turbomachinery startup, coastdown, and process shifts
  • Multi-plane dynamic field balancing for rotating equipment
  • Sleeve bearing orbit analysis on high-speed compressors and turbines
  • Motor current signature analysis (MCSA) on AC induction motors
