Description
Designed for high-availability process control environments, the 900RR0-0300 serves as the central hardware foundation for redundant controller configurations within the Honeywell HC900 platform. This redundant CPM rack accommodates dual Central Processing Modules (CPMs) and twin power supply units, eliminating single points of failure in critical automation loops. By facilitating seamless, continuous switchover between primary and backup controllers, it ensures uninterrupted process monitoring and execution.
Built to withstand demanding industrial environments, this rack supports wide temperature ranges and provides robust backplane communication pathways. It integrates directly into the HC900 control architecture, coordinating secure power distribution and synchronization channels between the active and standby processors.
Features
- Houses redundant Central Processing Modules (CPMs) and dual power supplies on a single backplane.
- Supports extended operating temperatures ranging from -40 degC to 70 degC.
- Robust electrical backplane designed to maintain signal integrity in high-noise environments.
- Enables hot-swapping of controllers and power modules to minimize system downtime during maintenance.
- Integrated grounding and shielding structural provisions for reliable EMI/RFI protection.
Applications
- Power generation facilities and combustion control systems.

Installation Guidelines
For reliable operation of the 900RR0-0300 redundant rack, follow these mechanical and electrical installation guidelines:
- Mount the rack securely onto a flat, vertical surface or heavy-duty panel backplate inside an appropriately rated industrial enclosure.
- Connect the primary and backup power supplies to independent electrical sources to ensure true dual-source power redundancy.
- Maintain a minimum clearance of 50 mm above and below the rack assembly to allow sufficient natural convection airflow, preventing localized overheating.
- Connect the dedicated low-impedance grounding terminal on the rack chassis to the primary site-protection ground using an appropriate gauge copper wire.
