Description

The Honeywell LG1093AC05 is an industrial ultraviolet flame sensor designed for flame monitoring in gas turbine installations. Operating as part of the Honeywell LG/EG flame monitoring system, the LG1093AC05 detects ultraviolet radiation emitted by hydrocarbon flames to signal flame or no-flame conditions. It incorporates a Geiger Mueller-type phototube sensor tolerant to black body radiation and solar blind across the 180 to 260 nm spectrum. Designed with a 1.73-inch O.D. mounting flange and a 24-foot (7.3 m) two-conductor armored cable, the unit interfaces directly with compatible EG1033 amplifier modules up to an operating distance of 1000 feet (330 m).

Features

  • High sensitivity with fast typical flame present response time of 0.1 seconds
  • Maximum flame loss response time of 0.2 seconds
  • Solar blind Geiger Mueller-type sensor phototube detecting 180 to 260 nm UV spectrum
  • Tolerant to black body radiation
  • 10,000 hours MTBF with two-year shelf life
  • 1.73 inch O.D. by 0.14 inch wide mounting flange
  • Integrated 24 ft (7.3 m) two-conductor armored cable
  • Viewing window rated for 6.3 psig (428 mbar) pressure

Applications

  • General Electric (and GE licensee) industrial gas turbines
  • Power generation land-based and off-shore gas turbine units
  • Pumping station gas turbine drives
  • Marine and shipboard power generation turbines
  • Industrial gas compressor drives

Installation Guidelines

  • Ensure proper mechanical alignment of the 1.73-inch mounting flange against the turbine viewing port.
  • Verify viewing window pressure limits do not exceed the 6.3 psig rating during operating conditions.
  • Route the 24-foot armored cable avoiding extreme bend radii, high mechanical impact zones, or direct abrasion.
  • Maintain complete shield and ground continuity back to the EG1033 series amplifier terminal connections.
  • Keep maximum cable runs between the sensor and amplifier within 1000 feet (330 m).

Compliance and Certifications

  • CE Mark: EMC Directive 89/336/EEC
  • ATEX Directive 94/9/EC: EEx d IIA T3 or EEx d IIC T3 (Zone 1 and 2)
  • Factory Mutual: Class I, Division 1 and 2, Groups B, C, and D
