The Honeywell MC-TAIH02 is a High Level Analog Input / Smart Transmitter Interface Field Termination Assembly (FTA) designed for process signal termination and field wiring interfacing within TotalPlant Solution (TPS) Process Manager systems.

Features

  • Accommodates up to 16 differential input channels for analog voltage/current signals or digital smart transmitter communications.
  • Integrates resistor current limiting (145 ohm, non-fused) for transmitter power conditioning in Class 1, Div 2 hazardous location interfacing.
  • Features compression-type termination blocks capable of accepting wire sizes up to 14 AWG (~1.6 mm).
  • Supports high-density A-size assembly footprint for cabinet space efficiency.
  • Provided with standard conformal coating for harsh environment and corrosion protection.

Applications

  • High-level analog voltage and current field loop terminations
  • Smart Transmitter Interface (DE protocol) field device wiring
  • Process Manager (PM), Advanced Process Manager (APM), High Performance Process Manager (HPM), and Enhanced High Performance Process Manager (EHPM) I/O subsystems

Installation Guidelines

  • Field Wiring Connection: Route field wiring to the compression terminals ensuring conductors do not exceed 14 AWG (~1.6 mm).
  • System Common Reference: The low-side input connection is normally connected to system common via a wire jumper on the FTA, which can be removed subject to operating within Common Mode Voltage limits.
  • Cable Routing: Connect the FTA to the corresponding Input/Output Processor (IOP) using approved Honeywell FTA cables up to 50 meters in length.
  • Corrosion Protection: Maintain conformal coating integrity when installed in non-G1 process environments.

Honeywell MC-TAIH02 51304453-150 TPS Process Manage High Level Analog Input/STI FTA

Which Input Output Processors are compatible with the FTA?

The FTA connects directly to the MC-PAIH03 High Level Analog Input Processor and the MU-PSTX03 Smart Transmitter Interface Processor.

What wire size range does the terminal block accept?

The compression-type termination blocks accommodate field wiring up to 14 AWG or approximately 1.6 mm.

How is power conditioning provided for field transmitters?

Field transmitter power conditioning is provided through non-fused, resistor-current-limited 145 ohm circuits suitable for Class 1, Div 2 interfacing.

OSHA boxes checked is not the same as a living PSM system. Refinery history shows programs fail when procedures, training, contractors, and investigations drift from how the plant actually runs.
