Description

Integrate host computer systems directly into industrial networks via a dedicated PCI slot. The Q80BD-J71LP21G interface board provides reliable connection capabilities for high-speed deterministic communications. Engineered specifically for MELSECNET/H network architectures, this module operates as either a control station or a normal station within an optical fiber loop network, facilitating seamless data exchange between PCs and PLCs.

Operating at a transmission rate of 10 Mbps, the interface board utilizes dual-loop optical fiber cabling to ensure physical path redundancy. If a cable break or station fault occurs, the network automatically initiates loopback operations to maintain communications. It features backward compatibility, supporting both MELSECNET/H extended modes and legacy MELSECNET/10 configurations to easily integrate into existing control topologies.

Features

  • Standard half-size PCI slot interface for integration into industrial computers.
  • Double-loop optical fiber transmission path for redundant, fault-tolerant network routing.
  • High-speed deterministic data exchange utilizing token ring access methodologies.
  • Supports the simultaneous installation of up to 4 interface boards per host computer.
  • Robust frame synchronization and NRZI coding with CRC error checking.

Applications

  • Automotive assembly line synchronization and telemetry monitoring.
  • Water treatment distribution networks and pump control systems.
  • Power generation plant supervisory control and data acquisition.
  • Redundant high-speed process automation environments.

Installation Guidelines

  • Slot Insertion: Align the interface board carefully with an empty PCI slot on the host industrial PC and secure the mounting bracket firmly to the chassis.
  • Electrostatic Protection: Handle the board using appropriate ESD wrist straps or grounded mats to protect sensitive CMOS components.
  • Fiber Care: Clean the optical fiber connection faces with certified optical cleaning tools prior to insertion. Respect the minimum bend radius of GI-50/125 cables during routing.
  • Driver Configuration: Ensure the appropriate Mitsubishi MELSECNET utility and board drivers are fully installed before running network diagnostics.
