Integrating PROFIBUS DP network connectivity directly into Rockwell Automation ControlLogix systems, the ProSoft MVI56-PDPMV1 PROFIBUS DPV1 Master Communication Module functions as an efficient gateway between the PLC backplane and distributed field devices. This single-slot module mounts directly into the ControlLogix chassis, enabling the processor to control slave devices via high-speed cyclic data exchange (DPV0) and configuration/diagnostic acyclic data transfer (DPV1).
The MVI56-PDPMV1 establishes high-speed communication without consuming excessive rack space or requiring complex ladder logic. Featuring a dedicated RS-232 RJ45 serial configuration port, the module also supports remote configuration and diagnostics across EtherNet/IP using CIPConnect technology, allowing engineers to maintain the system through a network-linked ControlLogix Ethernet bridge.
