Description

This is a Siemens 6ES7134-4GB11-0AB0 analog input module for the SIMATIC ET 200S distributed I/O system. It provides two isolated current input channels specifically designed for connecting 4-wire transmitters. With a compact 15 mm width, this module optimizes cabinet space while delivering precise data acquisition. It supports multiple measurement ranges, including ±20 mA with 13 bits plus sign resolution and 4 to 20 mA with 13-bit resolution, making it suitable for critical process monitoring in various industrial automation environments.

The module ensures high signal integrity through sophisticated noise suppression, achieving a minimum of 70 dB common-mode rejection. Its robust design and diagnostic capabilities, indicated by an integrated SF (System Fault) LED, provide reliable performance for demanding applications requiring accurate current signal acquisition.

Features

  • Two isolated analog current input channels
  • Designed for 4-wire current transmitters
  • High resolution of 13 bits (+ sign for ±20 mA range)
  • Compact 15 mm width for high-density mounting
  • Integrated SF (System Fault) LED for onboard diagnostics
  • Excellent noise suppression and high repeatability

Applications

  • Process control systems
  • Factory automation and manufacturing
  • Water and wastewater treatment
  • Energy monitoring and management

Installation Guidelines

CRITICAL WARNING: Hazardous voltages may be present. Installation must be performed by qualified personnel only. Ensure all power sources are de-energized and locked out/tagged out (LOTO) before commencing work. Failure to comply can result in severe injury or death.
  1. 1 Mount the module onto the corresponding ET 200S terminal module on a standard 35mm DIN rail. Ensure it is securely seated to establish a proper backplane bus connection.
  2. 2 Connect the 4-wire transmitter signal wiring to the designated terminals on the terminal module. Use shielded, twisted-pair cable for all analog signal runs to minimize electromagnetic interference (EMI).
  3. 3 Terminate the cable shield at a single, dedicated low-impedance earth ground point, typically at the control cabinet's ground bar. Avoid creating ground loops by connecting the shield at both ends.
  4. 4 Ensure proper cable management, separating analog signal cables from high-voltage power lines to prevent induced noise. Secure all wiring according to local electrical codes.
  5. 5 After all connections are verified, remove the LOTO device and apply power to the system. Check the module's status LEDs for normal operation and configure the input channels in the PLC programming software.
