Installation Guidelines

CRITICAL WARNING: Hazardous voltages can cause severe injury or death. De-energize and lock out/tag out all power sources to the S7-300 rack before attempting installation, removal, or wiring of this module.

  1. 1 Verify that the S7-300 backplane bus and 24 VDC power supply are fully de-energized and locked out.
  2. 2 Align the module with an empty slot on the S7-300 mounting rail. Hook the top of the module onto the rail and pivot it downwards until it clicks into place.
  3. 3 Slide the module to the left to firmly engage its connectors with the adjacent module or CPU on the backplane bus.
  4. 4 Secure the module to the rail by tightening the integrated mounting screw located on the front of the module.
  5. 5 Terminate field wiring for thermocouples or voltage signals onto the 40-pole front connector, ensuring correct polarity and proper grounding of cable shields.
  6. 6 Install the wired front connector onto the module. Remove lockout/tagout devices and re-energize the system. Verify the module's status LEDs for correct operation.
