Designed to extend the physical command interface of 15-inch HMI terminals, the Beckhoff C9900-E899 mounts seamlessly to the right side of compatible control panels and panel PCs. This rugged push-button extension provides a bridge between tactile physical controls and digital industrial networks. Can the Emergency Stop button run solely over USB?

No. For safety compliance, the emergency stop switch must be hardwired directly to your safety relay or fail-safe controller via its dedicated wireable terminals, independent of the USB bus.

How are the push-button signals processed by the controller?

Each of the 20 buttons transmits one normally-open contact state over USB. Additionally, a second isolated normally-open contact for each button is routed to a physical terminal row for direct hardware integration.

Is this extension compatible with 12-inch or 19-inch Beckhoff panels?
