The CX2030 series acts as a direct hardware upgrade step over the CX2020 single-core units. Due to the architecture requirements of Windows Embedded Standard 7, Ensure that existing storage media cards are formatted with identical partition configurations when hot-swapping older system drives. TwinCAT 3 setups operating on this device run on Platform Level 60 (Mid Performance).
Though passively cooled in many standard mount schemes, high-density cabinet layouts with ambient temperatures above 45 degC require maintaining a minimum of 30 mm vertical clearances. Blocking ventilation channels beneath or above the module will accelerate the thermal throttling threshold of the Core i7 CPU, dropping its operating cycle from 1.5 GHz down to fail-safe parameters.
Always verify that the auxiliary grounding block on the DIN rail is bonded securely to the panel backplate. The CX2030-0121 uses structural grounding connections through the DIN rail springs. Failure to establish a low-impedance ground path can result in intermittent packet loss on gigabit RJ45 interfaces and bus synchronization faults.
CRITICAL WARNING:
Do not insert or extract CFast storage media while control power is applied to the system bus. Turn off the primary 24V DC input supply and verify that all status LEDs are completely dark before removing any interface modules or terminal block lines.
Mount the module vertically onto a grounded DIN rail (EN 60715) by snapping it firmly into position until the metal locking latches engage.
Slide adjacent I/O bus terminals directly onto the right side of the module housing until the internal E-bus or K-bus slide contacts click home.
Connect network interfaces, DVI display lines, and peripherals before providing a stabilized 24V DC feed to the power supply terminal module.
