Addressing and Commissioning

When using extended addressing (V2), ensure that your slaves are also V2 compliant. Extended addressing divides the standard 31 addresses into "A" and "B" banks, allowing for 62 total devices. Use the local signaling display unit on the front of the TSXSAY1000C to identify address conflicts or bus faults during the initial power-up.

Wiring and SUB-D Connection

The 3-way SUB-D connector is the primary gateway to the AS-i bus. Use high-quality, shielded AS-i yellow flat cable for the field run. Ensure that the total cable length does not exceed 100 meters without the use of AS-i repeaters. Even with the Humiseal 1A33 coating, ensure the SUB-D connector is firmly tightened to maintain a gas-tight seal at the connection point.

Environmental Protection

The IP20 rating means the module must be installed in an enclosure. Because this is the coated version, it is specifically intended for cabinets located in "Class 3C2" or similar environments. Maintain a vertical mounting orientation to facilitate natural convection, as the module consumes nearly 2.25 Watts of power from the backplane, which must be dissipated to stay within the 0…60 °C operating range.
