Product Description

Description

The BECKHOFF BK9105 is an EtherNet/IP Bus Coupler designed to connect EtherNet/IP networks to the modular Beckhoff Bus Terminals. Acting as the head station of an electronic terminal block, the coupler converts telegrams from the higher-level fieldbus system into the bit-level signals of the internal Bus Terminals. The BK9105 features an integrated 2-channel switch with two RJ45 interfaces, enabling implementation in line topologies without requiring additional external switches.

This bus coupler supports up to 64 Bus Terminals directly, which can be expanded up to 255 terminals using K-bus extension technology. It handles up to 492 bytes of input data and 492 bytes of output data over EtherNet/IP. Configuration and parameterization of the connected I/O stations are managed via the KS2000 configuration software or through the controller using standard configuration tools. The unit is powered by a 24 V DC supply and provides internal current to the K-bus to support connected system terminals.

Features

  • Connects EtherNet/IP networks to modular BECKHOFF Bus Terminals
  • Integrated 2-channel switch with 2 x RJ45 ports for line and star wiring topologies
  • Supports up to 64 Bus Terminals natively, extendable up to 255 terminals via K-bus extension
  • Process data communication up to 492 bytes input and 492 bytes output
  • Automatic detection of 10/100 Mbit/s transmission rates
  • Configurable via KS2000 software
  • Electrical isolation across power contacts, supply voltage, and fieldbus interfaces

Applications

  • Distributed industrial automation and machine control architectures
  • Modular machine building requiring flexible I/O expansion via EtherNet/IP
  • EtherNet/IP network node integration for digital and analog sensor/actuator arrays
  • Process and factory automation lines utilizing line or star Ethernet topologies
