Description

The Bently Nevada 146031-02 is a 100Base-FX Fiber Optic Ethernet I/O Module designed for use with the 3500/22M Transient Data Interface Module within the Bently Nevada 3500 Machinery Protection System. Installed in the rear slot of a 3500 rack, the 146031-02 provides full-duplex multimode fiber optic Ethernet communication to interface the rack with System 1 Condition Monitoring and Diagnostic software, 3500 System Configuration software, and 3500 Display software. It includes system contacts for Trip Multiply, Alarm Inhibit, and Rack Reset, an OK Relay contact for rack status annunciation, and a 2-pin terminal for connecting Signal Common to a single-point instrument ground.

Installation Guidelines

  • Slot Placement: Install the 146031-02 I/O module into the full-height rear slot directly behind the 3500/22M TDI main module in Slot 1 of the 3500 rack.
  • Fiber Optic Cabling: The module features an MT-RJ Male connector. Fiber optic cables must use an MT-RJ Female connector to ensure proper mating.
  • Signal Grounding: When connecting Signal Common to a single-point instrument ground via the 2-pin connector, slide the selector switch on the side of the Power Input Module (PIM) in the direction of the "HP" arrow to isolate Signal Common from chassis ground.
  • Upgrade Sequence Caution: When upgrading a rack from a 3500/20 RIM to a 3500/22 TDI, always remove the RIM main module and RIM I/O module before inserting the new TDI I/O module and TDI main module to prevent hardware damage.
