The NS5-SQ00-V2 acts as a direct replacement for legacy -V1 hardware. Project migration from older configurations can be achieved inside CX-Designer by simply changing the system target version. Note that memory structures of -V2 allow larger screen data processing arrays, preventing the out-of-memory faults typical when packing high-density alarm registers onto older units.
Due to the passive-matrix nature of STN displays, ensure the HMI is mounted at an angle perpendicular to the operator's line of sight. Viewing angles on STN screens degrade more rapidly than modern TFT screens in high-ambient-light configurations. For environments with direct exposure to overhead high-lux halogen lamps, an external anti-glare protective sheet is highly recommended.
When routing serial lines to Serial Port A or B, avoid routing serial cables parallel to three-phase high-voltage power lines or VFD output lines. Use shielded, twisted-pair cables with the shield grounded strictly at the panel chassis end to mitigate potential electromagnetic noise on serial lines, which can trigger connection timeout faults on the HMI interface.
Isolate and lock out all 24 VDC power supplies feeding the installation enclosure prior to mounting or connecting the NS5-SQ00-V2. Static discharge or hot-plugging the terminal blocks can damage the internal logic boards and cause firmware corruption.
