Installation Guidelines

1. 1 Ensure the S7-400 rack is properly mounted and connected to a protective earth (PE) ground terminal with a low-impedance connection.
2. 2 Align the CPU module with the designated slot in the S7-400 backplane. Slide the module along the guide rails until it is fully seated and the backplane connectors are engaged.
3. 3 Secure the module to the rack by tightening the captive screw(s) on the front panel. Do not overtighten.
4. 4 Connect communication cables (MPI/DP, PROFINET) to the corresponding ports on the front of the CPU. Ensure connectors are fully seated and secured. Use shielded cables for all network connections.
5. 5 After all modules are installed and wired, remove LOTO devices and restore power to the system for commissioning.
