Description

The Allen-Bradley 1746-P1 is a rack-mounting power supply designed for the SLC 500 modular controller system. It provides operating power directly to the SLC 500 chassis backplane, supplying internal current capacities of 2A at 5V dc and 0.46A at 24V dc for system modules. The unit accepts a selectable line voltage range of 85-132V ac or 170-265V ac at a frequency of 47 to 63 Hz. Additionally, the module features an auxiliary 24V dc user power supply output with a 200 mA current capacity. Designed with 1800V ac RMS isolation between the input terminals and the backplane, it protects control electronics from external electrical disturbances.

Features

  • Rack-Mount Architecture: Mounts directly into the left side of an SLC 500 modular chassis.
  • Dual Input Voltage Range: Supports AC line inputs of 85-132V ac or 170-265V ac.
  • Auxiliary User Power: Features an onboard 24V dc user power connection providing up to 200 mA.
  • Overcurrent Protection: Includes fuse protection via a replaceable 1746-F1 (or equivalent 250V-3A) fuse.
  • Backplane Electrical Isolation: Continuous isolation rated at 1800V ac RMS for 1 second between input terminals and backplane.

Applications

  • Main system power source for SLC 500 chassis assemblies.
  • Process control systems requiring localized 24V dc user power for sensor inputs.
  • Industrial automation chassis installations in general manufacturing and processing lines.
