Description

The Bently Nevada 146031-01 is a 10Base-T/100Base-TX I/O module designed for interfacing the 3500/22M Transient Data Interface (TDI) module to host software via Ethernet in machinery protection and condition monitoring systems. It resides in a full-height rear slot of a 3500 rack and incorporates an RJ-45 copper Ethernet interface conforming to IEEE 802.3 standards to support BN Host Protocol and BN TDI Protocol over TCP/IP. The module provides external physical interfaces for system contacts including Trip Multiply, Alarm Inhibit, and Rack Reset inputs, as well as an onboard OK Relay and a 2-pin Signal Common external grounding terminal.

Features

  • Integrates an autosensing 10Base-T/100Base-TX copper Ethernet RJ-45 connection.
  • Features an onboard OK Relay for rack status annunciation.
  • Provides system contact input terminals for Trip Multiply, Alarm Inhibit, and Rack Reset.
  • Includes a 2-pin Signal Common terminal for connecting instrument ground.
  • Features integrated arc suppressors for relay contact protection.

Applications

  • Real-time steady-state and transient dynamic data collection in 3500 machinery protection systems.
  • Ethernet communication interface between 3500 racks and System 1 Condition Monitoring and Diagnostic Software.
  • Remote system configuration via 3500 System Configuration Software over TCP/IP networks.

Installation Guidelines

  • Upgrade Sequence Advisory: When upgrading a 3500 rack from a 3500/20 RIM to a 3500/22 TDI, remove the existing RIM and RIM I/O module before inserting the new TDI I/O module and TDI front module to prevent damage to the TDI.
  • Slot Allocation: Install the module in the 1 full-height rear slot directly behind the 3500/22M TDI module in Slot 1.
  • Grounding Connection: Use the 2-pin Signal Common connector to attach Signal Common to a single-point Instrument Ground for the rack.
  • Power Input Module (PIM) Adjustment: When connecting Signal Common to Instrument Ground via the I/O module, slide the selector switch on the side of the Power Input Module (PIM) in the direction of the arrow marked "HP" to isolate Signal Common from chassis ground.
