Description

The 22810-00-05-05-00 is an 8 mm Standard Mount Proximity Probe from the Bently Nevada 7200 Series. This configuration features a 3/8-24 UNF threaded body with 0.0 in (0.0 mm) of unthreaded length (Option 00) and a 0.5 in (12.7 mm) case length (Option 05). It is equipped with a 0.5 m integral coaxial cable (Option 05) and is supplied without a connector (Option 00), designed for direct terminal connection in 7200 transducer systems.

As part of the 7200 Series, this eddy-current transducer system provides non-contacting shaft position and vibration measurements. It is constructed of polyphenylene sulfide (PPS), a high-performance plastic capable of withstanding industrial environments including water and lube oil. The probe is compatible with 7200 Series Proximitors and extension cables, facilitating radial vibration, axial thrust position, and eccentricity measurements on rotating machinery such as turbines, compressors, and pumps.

Features

  • 8 mm probe tip diameter constructed of polyphenylene sulfide (PPS)
  • 3/8-24 UNF-2A standard mount thread configuration
  • Linear measurement range of 80 mils (2.0 mm)
  • Compatible with 7200 Series Proximitor sensors and extension cables
  • Non-contacting eddy current measurement principle for DC (static) and AC (dynamic) signals
  • Scale factor of 200 mV/mil (7.87 V/mm)
  • Operating temperature range from -34 degC to +177 degC (-30 degF to +350 degF)

Applications

  • Radial vibration monitoring to detect rotor imbalance or misalignment
  • Axial thrust position measurement for thrust bearing wear indication
  • Eccentricity measurement to monitor rotor bow
  • Shaft average radial position for rotor stability analysis
  • Turbomachinery protection in power generation, petrochemical, and oil and gas industries

Installation Guidelines

Ensure the probe is installed with adequate clearance from the observed target to maintain the 80 mils (2.0 mm) linear range. When routing the integral 0.5 m coaxial cable, avoid sharp bends and maintain separation from high-voltage AC power lines to prevent signal interference. Ensure all connections are secure and protected from physical damage. When used in hazardous locations, verify that the installation complies with local safety standards and the specific approvals (CSA, BASEEFA, FM) for the 7200 system.

Compliance and Certifications

The 7200 series transducers are designed to comply with API 670 requirements for vibration monitoring systems. Consult the Bently Nevada hazardous location datasheet for specific CSA, FM, and BASEEFA certification details applicable to the 22810 series.
