Description

The Bently Nevada 330103-00-10-50-02-00 is an engineered, high-performance 3300 XL 8mm proximity probe featuring a metric M10 x 1 thread without protective armor. This precise physical configuration is defined by a 0 mm unthreaded length, a 100 mm overall case length, a 5.0-meter total cable length, and a standard miniature coaxial ClickLoc connector. Specifically designed with an integrated 5.0-meter cable length, this probe is optimized to connect directly to a 5-meter Proximitor sensor. This design bypasses the need for an intermediate extension cable, reducing connection points, maximizing transmission integrity, and streamlining setup in tight machine housings.

As a core component of the Bently Nevada 3300 XL system, this proximity probe uses eddy current technology to measure the gap between the probe tip and a conductive target, such as an AISI 4140 steel shaft. The resulting analog output voltage is directly proportional to physical distance, enabling extremely precise static (position) and dynamic (vibration) measurements. It is widely used for turbine vibration monitoring, Keyphasor phase reference tracking, and shaft speed detection. It maintains full physical and electrical interchangeability with older 3300-series 5 mm and 8 mm components, allowing painless retrofits into existing industrial architectures.

Features

  • Metric M10 x 1 threaded stainless steel case without mechanical outer armor.
  • 0 mm unthreaded length matched with a 100 mm overall case length, ideal for deeper threaded installation wells.
  • Integrated 5.0-meter total cable length designed specifically for direct connection to a 5-meter Proximitor sensor.
  • Gold-plated miniature coaxial ClickLoc connector ensures a vibration-proof coupling without signal degradation.
  • Tip molded from high-durability polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) to withstand high-pressure fluids and chemical exposure.
  • Broad temperature stability and complete electrical interchangeability with non-XL legacy components.
  • Integrated Viton O-ring seal to prevent media and lubrication oil from bypassing the mounting thread.

Applications

The Bently Nevada 330103-00-10-50-02-00 proximity probe is critical for machinery protection and condition monitoring in heavy rotating machinery. Common applications include:

  • Radial vibration and shaft dynamic monitoring on fluid-film bearing machinery, such as steam turbines, gas turbines, and compressors.
  • Axial thrust position measurement for rotor axial movement monitoring and protection.
  • Keyphasor reference tracking and speed/tachometer applications.
  • Petrochemical, power generation, refining, and gas extraction installations complying with API 670 standards.

Installation Guidelines

Ensure correct sensor performance by observing the following structural installation requirements:

  • Thread Engagement: Do not exceed 15 mm of thread engagement when tightening the probe case into the bracket or machine housing. Tighten to a recommended torque of 11.2 N-m (100 in-lbf).
  • Cable Integrity: Avoid twisting the cable during installation. Ensure the cable bend radius does not fall below 25.4 mm (1.0 in) at any point along the routing path.
  • Target Alignment: Ensure the target is a minimum diameter of 15.2 mm (0.6 in). For optimal accuracy, maintain a lateral clearance of at least 8.0 mm around the probe tip to prevent side-loading signal interference from adjacent metal walls.
  • Connector Connection: Hand-tighten the coaxial gold ClickLoc connector only. Do not use pliers, as this can crush the miniature locking sleeve.

Bently Nevada 330103-00-10-50-02-00 3300 XL 8mm Proximity Probe

What Proximitor sensor is compatible with this specific probe configuration?

This 5.0-meter probe is designed specifically for direct connection to a 5-meter Proximitor sensor. Using it with a 9-meter sensor or adding an extension cable will cause calibration and measurement errors.

What are the thread specifications and case length of this probe?

This probe features an M10 x 1 metric thread, a 0 mm unthreaded length, and a 100 mm overall case length, making it ideal for deeply tapped, non-armored mounting positions.

Does this probe model require an extension cable?

No, this probe comes with an integrated 5.0-meter cable and a gold ClickLoc coaxial connector, allowing it to connect directly to the compatible Proximitor sensor without an intermediate extension cable.

Is this probe suitable for hazardous areas?

This specific SKU has option code 00 for agency approvals, meaning it does not carry certification markings on the label. For hazardous area applications, a probe with option code 05 should be selected.
