Installation Guidelines

Proper mechanical installation of the probe is essential to ensure measurement accuracy:

• Securely mount the probe to a rigid bracket or machine wall to prevent vibration in the mounting assembly from distorting shaft displacement readings.
• Maintain a minimum thread engagement depth of 15 mm for the M10 x 1 thread to prevent physical damage or loose fittings during machine operation.
• Ensure that the probe tip has an open clearance of at least 3 probe tip diameters (24 mm) from any surrounding target-side metal to avoid electrical interference and calibration bias.
• Set the initial probe gap to approximately 1.27 mm (50 mils) to establish a proper electrical midpoint of -10 Vdc when connected to the Proximitor sensor.
• Route the cable with appropriate bend radii (minimum 25 mm) and secure it to prevent chafing or physical strain on the ClickLoc connector.
• Utilize safety wire through pre-drilled holes in the lock nut to maintain tightening torque under high-vibration conditions.
