Description

330500-01-00: Velomitor Piezo-velocity sensor, configured with Option 01 (1/2-20 UNF mounting thread) and Option 00 (no agency approval required). The Bently Nevada 330500 is a specialized piezoelectric accelerometer designed to measure absolute casing, bearing housing, and structural vibration. By incorporating solid-state integrated electronics, the transducer provides a continuous output proportional to the velocity of the machine surface.

Because the unit contains no moving parts, it is immune to the mechanical wear often associated with moving-coil velocity transducers. This allows for flexible mounting orientation—horizontal, vertical, or at any angle—making it suitable for diverse industrial environments, including power generation, oil and gas, and petrochemical facilities. The 330500 measures machine vibration originating at the rotor that is transmitted to the casing or bearing housing.

Features

  • Option 01: 1/2-20 UNF mounting thread adapter.
  • Option 00: Standard unit without additional hazardous area agency approvals.
  • Solid-state design: No moving parts prevents mechanical degradation and wear.
  • Case isolated: Internal circuitry is isolated from the 316L stainless steel housing to minimize electrical interference.
  • Hermetically sealed: Protects internal components in harsh industrial environments with up to 100% relative humidity.
  • Dynamic output: 3.94 mV/mm/s (100 mV/in/s) sensitivity.
  • Orientation flexible: Can be mounted in any orientation without affecting measurement accuracy.

Applications

  • Bearing housing vibration monitoring
  • Casing vibration measurement
  • Structural vibration analysis
  • General rotating machinery protection (pumps, fans, motors, and blowers)

Installation Guidelines

  • Ensure the sensor is mounted on a flat, clean surface on the bearing housing or machine casing to maintain optimal frequency response.
  • Use the provided 1/2-20 UNF mounting thread (Option 01).
  • Tighten mounting with a torque of 32-46 kg cm (24-40 in-lb) maximum to prevent false signals or damage to the threads.
  • Avoid mounting in locations where the transducer case can come into direct contact with high-frequency mechanical sources that may generate false signals.
  • For cable connections, use appropriate twisted-shielded cable to minimize noise interference.

Compliance and Certifications

  • EMC Directive 2014/30/EU
  • RoHS Directive 2011/65/EU
  • FCC Part 15 compliant
  • ABS Marine Vessels compliant

Technical Datasheet

Bently Nevada 330500-01-00 Velomitor Piezo-velocity Sensor

What does the 01 in the 330500-01-00 part number indicate?

The 01 segment indicates the Mounting Thread Adapter option, specifically the 1/2-20 UNF thread configuration.

Can the 330500 Velomitor be mounted horizontally?

Yes, because the 330500 incorporates solid-state electronics and has no moving parts, it does not suffer from mechanical degradation and can be mounted vertically, horizontally, or at any angle.

What is the sensitivity of this sensor?

The 330500 provides a sensitivity of 3.94 mV/mm/s (100 mV/in/s) +/- 5%.

Is this sensor suitable for hazardous areas?

The -00 option for agency approval indicates that this specific configuration does not carry additional hazardous area certifications. Please check the datasheet for alternate part numbers if hazardous area ratings are required.
