Installation Guidelines

Proper mechanical and electrical installation is critical to ensure accurate proximity probe measurements:

• Case Torque Limit: When installing the 1/4-28 UNF probe case, do not exceed the maximum recommended torque of 5.1 N m (45 in lb) to prevent thread or casing damage.
• Cable Bend Radius: Maintain a minimum coaxial cable bend radius of 25.4 mm (1.0 in) during cable routing.
• Thread Engagement: Ensure proper thread engagement limits (typical maximum thread engagement for a 1/4-28 UNF probe is 0.375 inches) to prevent physical contact issues or binding.
