Description

The Bently Nevada 3500/15-01-01-01 is a half-height power supply module designed to reside on the left side of a 3500 series machinery protection rack. This module converts external legacy low voltage AC input power into the regulated DC voltages required to power all other active modules within the same rack. A single 3500/15 power supply is electrically rated to support a fully loaded rack on its own. When two modules are installed concurrently within the designated rack slots, they function in a redundant power configuration. In this dual-supply architecture, the module positioned in the lower slot serves as the primary power source, while the module in the upper slot acts as the automatic backup utility.

Features

  • Redundant Operation Support: Accommodates an identical backup unit in the secondary rack slot to provide seamless failure recovery without system downtime.
  • Hot-Swappable Module Design: Allows removal or insertion of either power supply unit without disrupting operational rack machinery, provided a second functional supply remains active.
  • Integrated Diagnostics: Front panel "SUPPLY OK" LED provides real-time, visual confirmation of correct power supply internal operation.
  • Out of Range Safeguards: Built-in protection ensures that an under-voltage state causes no structural or functional harm to the internal circuitry or the associated Power Input Module (PIM).

Applications

  • Machinery protection and condition monitoring systems.
  • Power generation turbines and industrial compressors.
  • Oil and gas refining machinery.
  • Heavy manufacturing production lines.

Installation Guidelines

  • Slot Placement: The power supply modules must be installed exclusively within the designated half-height slots located on the far-left section of the 3500 rack.
  • Power Input Module (PIM): A matching half-height Power Input Module must be positioned and securely fastened directly behind the main power supply module on the rear of the rack chassis.
  • Dual-Supply Routing: When implementing a redundant setup, ensure the primary line feeds into the lower module slot and the backup line feeds into the upper module slot.
