Description

The General Electric IC200MDL329 is a VersaMax discrete isolated output module designed for industrial automation control systems. This compact module features 8 isolated discrete outputs, providing reliable switching capabilities for 120VAC field loads. Intelligent processing for the module is handled by the system CPU or Network Interface Unit (NIU), ensuring seamless integration within the VersaMax I/O platform architecture.

An external 120VAC power supply is required to switch power to the connected loads. The unit incorporates optical isolation between user logic and internal circuitry, along with built-in snubber circuits and metal oxide varistors (MOVs) on each output for enhanced transient protection against inductive load switching.

The module mounts onto a standard VersaMax carrier with either two or three rows of terminals. For the IC200MDL329 8-point module, connections A1 through A16 handle output channels and their respective returns. B-row terminals can be utilized for additional bussed connections by installing an optional shorting bar with a maximum current-carrying capacity of 2A per point.

Installation Guidelines

• Ensure all rack power and external load power supplies are turned off before installing or removing modules in hazardous or non-hazardous locations.
• Mount the module securely onto its corresponding VersaMax carrier on a standard DIN rail.
• When connecting to inductive loads, the use of external suppression circuits is strongly recommended in addition to internal module protection.
