Description

The IS220YDOAS1AJ is a discrete output pack engineered for the Mark VIe series control platforms. This device forms an electrical interface linking one or two redundant I/O Ethernet networks directly to a discrete output terminal board. It runs dedicated firmware to regulate up to twelve external potential relays while processing real-time relay and fuse feedback monitoring tracking loops. Equipped with an internal acquisition board and a specialized BPPB common processor board, the hardware uses a DC-37 pin connection system to drive terminal components. The control system supports flexible hardware redundancy profiles, including three modules for Triple Modular Redundant (TMR) voting applications or a single module for simplex configurations, managing diagnostic checks via voting disagreement algorithms.

Features

  • Provides electrical control interface functions between I/O dual Ethernet networks and external discrete output hardware.
  • Drives up to twelve potential relays with dedicated relay and fuse feedback diagnostic monitoring loops.
  • Utilizes a specialized voting disagreement methodology with enablement configurations to pinpoint network faults.
  • Runs internal automated self-diagnostic cycles upon initialization to check flash memory, processor board circuits, RAM, and active dual Ethernet ports.

Applications

  • Mark VIe Distributed Control Systems: Driving field relays and handling discrete control sequencing across turbine automation nodes.
  • TMR Redundant Control Loops: Providing synchronized tri-modular processing for high-availability industrial systems.
  • Simplex Output Interfaces: Direct discrete terminal board switching setups inside non-redundant utility panels.

Installation Guidelines

  • Disconnect all control power lines before fitting the discrete output hardware to the terminal base block.
  • Secure the DC-37 pin connection point tightly to maintain error-free electrical path linking to the field relays.
  • Configure the correct application architecture within the ControlST Software Suite (Simplex or TMR) before online deployment.
  • Ensure adequate ventilation spacing to maintain the ambient operating thermal metrics between -30 and + 65 Celsius.

Which specific processor board is built into the device?

The device utilizes a built-in BPPB common processor board to handle core control and processing tasks.

How many individual potential relays can the device manage?

The device has the interface capacity to drive and monitor up to twelve potential relays on its associated terminal board.

What happens during the initial power-up sequence of the device?

The device runs an automated power-up self-test that verifies the functional health of the processor board hardware, flash memory, RAM, and internal Ethernet ports.

How many units are required to deploy a Triple Modular Redundant architecture?

When configuring a TMR redundant application profile, exactly three individual I/O packs must be installed onto the network loop.
