Description

ICS Triplex T8110B is a Triple Modular Redundant (TMR), fault-tolerant main processor module operating in a lock-step configuration. The module serves as the primary processing component in a Trusted System, providing overall system control, monitoring facilities, and processing input and output data across a Trusted TMR Inter-Module Communications Bus. Equipped with a Hardware Implemented Fault Tolerant (HIFT) architecture and three Motorola PowerPC series processors, it performs 2-out-of-3 (2oo3) voted operations to eliminate divergent execution. The ICS Triplex T8110B features hardware-based time synchronization support via IRIG-B002 and IRIG-B122 signals, configurable serial communication links, and integrated fault historian capabilities for high-integrity applications such as emergency shutdown, fire and gas control, and turbine control.

Installation Guidelines

  • Module Insertion: Ensure field cable assemblies are correctly located. Release ejector tabs using the release key to ensure they are fully open. Insert the module firmly into its slot until front panel LEDs illuminate, then push fully home and lock the ejector tabs.
  • ESD Precautions: Static handling precautions must be strictly observed. Do not touch exposed connector pins, and under no circumstances remove or dismantle the protective module housing.
  • Visual Inspection: Prior to installation, inspect the rear I/O connector pins for physical damage or bends. Never force a module into a slot if high resistance is encountered.
  • Grounding & Shielding: Ensure proper connection of the chassis connection signal to establish effective electromagnetic interference shield grounding on the backplane.
