The BECKHOFF ELM3144-0000 is a four-channel analog input EtherCAT Terminal designed for precision measurement tasks in industrial automation environments. Housed in a robust zinc die-cast enclosure, this multi-function measurement terminal supports both voltage and current configurations on a per-channel basis, processing signals across ranges including plus/minus 10 V to plus/minus 1.25 V and plus/minus 20 mA. It integrates high-resolution 24-bit conversion with advanced digital signal processing features.

As part of the EtherCAT Terminal system, the ELM3144-0000 connects directly to the high-speed real-time industrial Ethernet network. It supports distributed clocks for synchronized time stamping across multiple nodes, making it suitable for synchronized data acquisition, process monitoring, and analytical measurement applications where precise timing and signal integrity are required.

Installation Guidelines

1. Ensure the system is completely powered down and de-energized before handling any terminal hardware or wiring.
2. Verify that the mounting DIN rail (35 mm conforming to EN 60715) is securely installed and properly grounded.
3. Mount the BECKHOFF ELM3144-0000 onto the DIN rail and lock it into position using the side-by-side double slot and key connection mechanism.
4. Check signal types and field sensor specifications against the multi-function input ratings of the terminal.
5. Strip conductors to the recommended 8 to 9 mm length and terminate solid or ferrule-fitted conductors securely into the push-in service plug terminals.
6. Verify shield grounding and potential distribution connections before restoring power to the EtherCAT network.
7. Power on the system and verify operational status via the onboard diagnostic LEDs and TwinCAT engineering software.
