Product Description

Description

The T8310 is an expander processor module designed for use within the ICS Triplex Trusted Triple Modular Redundant (TMR) fault tolerant programmable controller system. The device acts as the main processing and interface link between an expander chassis and the main controller chassis. Utilizing a Hardware Implemented Fault Tolerance (HIFT) TMR architecture with three distinct fault containment regions (FCR), the module provides high-speed, continuous 250 Mbps communications via dedicated link cabling or fiber optic interface units. It supports dual redundant 24 Vdc power inputs from the expander chassis backplane and features built-in 2oo3 voting and diagnostic routines to maintain continuous system operation without performance degradation.

Features

  • Triple Modular Redundant (TMR) architecture with Hardware Implemented Fault Tolerance (HIFT)
  • Supports 250 Mbps data transfer rate over expander interface hot link cabling
  • Hot-swappable module design supporting active and standby module configurations
  • Front panel status LEDs indicating slice health, active status, standby status, and Tx/Rx activity
  • Automatic fault isolation and bumpless transfer capability

Applications

  • Emergency Shutdown Systems (ESD)
  • Fire and Gas Detection Systems (F&G)
  • Critical Process Control and Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS)
  • Turbomachinery and Burner Management Systems (BMS)
