Description

The 1756-L72 is a ControlLogix 5570 controller for logic execution, I/O coordination, motion control, and system communication. It provides 4 MB of user memory and 0.98 MB of dedicated I/O memory.

The controller processes local and remote I/O through the ControlLogix chassis and installed communication modules. It supports digital, analog, specialty, and motion modules without integrated onboard I/O.

A front-panel USB port provides temporary programming, configuration, firmware update, and online editing access. The controller has no embedded industrial network port. Network communication requires a compatible module installed in the local chassis.

Nonvolatile storage uses a removable Secure Digital card. A capacitor-based energy storage module supports memory retention and WallClockTime operation without a replaceable lithium battery.
