Installation Guidelines

• Prior to installing, verify the machine casing depth to ensure the 5.5-inch threaded case length and 0.0-inch unthreaded configuration allow safe clearance with the target shaft.
• Establish the physical probe gap using a digital voltmeter measuring the Proximitor sensor output; standard calibration target is AISI 4140 steel, gapped at 1.27 mm (50 mils) corresponding to -10.0 Vdc.
• Avoid twisting or pinching the probe cable during mounting; maintain a bend radius greater than 25.4 mm (1.0 in) along the run.
• Always torque the probe case to proper limits when tightening into mounting brackets or bearing housings, staying within the recommended maximum torque of 11.2 N-m (100 in-lbf).
• Clean and dry ClickLoc connectors prior to coupling. Ensure they are engaged finger-tight until they click. Utilize Bently Nevada connector protectors to shield connections from turbine oil and moisture.
• Terminate shields and grounds according to appropriate electrical installation guidelines: keep the probe body electrically isolated, and terminate the cable shield at the instrument panel or Proximitor sensor housing.
