Description

Fully threaded 1/2-20 UNF steel probe body (Option 00) with 2.0 in case (Option 20) and 9.0 m lead (Option 90) - 330701-00-20-90-02-00, a 3300 XL 11 mm Proximity Probe without armor. This configuration is part of the 3300 XL 11 mm Proximity Transducer System, which is used for non-contacting vibration and displacement measurements on fluid film bearing machines. The larger 11 mm tip provides a longer linear range of 4.0 mm (160 mils), making it suitable for axial thrust position measurements, steam turbine ramp differential expansion, rod drop measurements on reciprocating compressors, tachometer or zero speed measurements, and Keyphasor phase reference signals.

Unlike armored options (such as the 330702 series) or reverse mount probes (such as the 330705), this 330701 configuration features an unarmored standard FEP-insulated triaxial cable. The 9.0-meter total system length is achieved directly via the probe's integrated lead, connecting directly to 9-meter Proximitor sensors without requiring an intermediate extension cable, reducing connector-to-connector interface points. Standard ClickLoc coaxial connectors maintain electrical integrity while the lack of hazardous area approvals (Option 00) makes it suitable for general-purpose, non-hazardous industrial installations.

Features

  • Unarmored 1/2-20 UNF-2A thread configuration with 2.0-inch overall case length and 0.0-inch unthreaded case length.
  • Large 11 mm probe tip provides an extended 4.0 mm (160 mils) linear measurement range.
  • Standard 9.0-meter (29.5 feet) FEP-insulated triaxial cable connects directly to compatible 9.0-meter Proximitor sensors.
  • Miniature coaxial ClickLoc connector (Option 02) provides low-resistance, click-locking connection.
  • Standard-purpose configuration (Option 00) for applications not requiring hazardous area certifications.
  • High physical durability with a maximum rated tensile strength of 330 N (75 lb) from probe case to lead.

Applications

  • Axial (thrust) position measurements on critical rotating machinery.
  • Ramp differential expansion measurements on steam turbines.
  • Rod position or rod drop measurements on reciprocating compressors.
  • High-range radial vibration, shaft position, and Keyphasor phase reference measurements.

Installation Guidelines

  • Ensure the probe-to-sensor system total length matches the Proximitor sensor calibration (9.0-meter system length).
  • Hand-tighten the ClickLoc coaxial connector, then apply recommended connector-to-connector torque of finger tight (up to 0.565 N-m or 5 in-lb max torque).
  • Secure probe case to target mounting bracket using appropriate torque (do not exceed 45.2 N-m or 400 in-lb for 1/2-20 thread cases).
  • Maintain a minimum cable bend radius of 25.4 mm (1.0 in) along all routing paths to prevent triaxial cable degradation.
  • Ensure the probe tip has a minimum clearance area of 30.5 mm (1.2 in) flat surface target size for correct eddy-current path formation.

Compliance and Certifications

  • CE Mark (European Community Directive 2014/30/EU EMC)
  • RoHS (European Community Directive 2011/65/EU RoHS)
  • China RoHS
  • EMC Standards: EN 61000-6-2 (Immunity), EN 61000-6-4 (Emissions)
