Description

330703-000-026-10-01-05: 3300 XL 11 mm proximity probe featuring an M14 x 1.5 metric thread without armor, configured with 0 mm unthreaded length (Option 000), 26 mm overall case length (Option 026), 1.0 m total length (Option 10), ClickLoc connector with protector (Option 01), and multiple hazardous area approvals (Option 05).

This non-contact eddy-current displacement sensor is used for fluid film bearing machinery vibration and position monitoring within the 3300 XL 11 mm transducer system. The larger 11 mm tip gives this transducer system an extended 4.0 mm (160 mil) linear range, which is used in applications where a wider range is necessary, such as axial position, ramp differential expansion, and rod drop measurements. Unlike other configuration variants that use standard threads or armored cables, this specific unarmored metric probe has an M14 x 1.5 thread and comes with a pre-installed fluorosilicone connector protector to shield the ClickLoc coaxial connection from contamination.

Features

  • Metric M14 x 1.5 Thread Design: Unarmored body with 0 mm unthreaded portion and 26 mm case length for direct mounting in metric thread applications.
  • Integrated Connector Protector: Pre-installed fluorosilicone sleeve shields the miniature coaxial ClickLoc connection from oil, dust, and moisture.
  • Extended 11 mm Tip: Supports a 4.0 mm (160 mil) linear range, allowing position and vibration measurement on larger targets.
  • 1.0 Meter Total Length: Built for standard 5.0 or 9.0 meter system configurations when paired with the corresponding 3300 XL 11 mm extension cable.
  • Hazardous Area Approval (Option 05): Certified for intrinsically safe and non-incendive installations in explosive gas and dust atmospheres under CSA, ATEX, and IECEx approvals.

Applications

  • Axial (thrust) position measurements on steam turbines and turbocompressors
  • Ramp differential expansion measurements on industrial steam turbines
  • Rod position or rod drop monitoring on reciprocating gas compressors
  • Radial shaft vibration and position measurements on large industrial machinery
  • Tachometer, zero-speed, and Phase reference (Keyphasor) signal capture

Installation Guidelines

  • Probe Gap Calibration: Establish a nominal starting gap of 2.5 mm (100 mils). Verify the electrical gap reading using a voltmeter before securing.
  • Torque Limits: Tighten the M14 x 1.5 probe body to a recommended torque of 21.1 N-m (187 in-lb). Do not exceed the maximum limit of 63.3 N-m (560 in-lb).
  • Cable Protection: Keep the coaxial ClickLoc connectors free of dust, water, and turbine oil. Ensure the pre-installed connector protector is fitted securely.
  • Cable Routing: Maintain a minimum cable bend radius of 25.4 mm (1.0 in) along the entire run to prevent coaxial shield damage.

Compliance and Certifications

  • EMC Standards: EN 61000-6-2, EN 61000-6-4
  • RoHS: Directive 2011/65/EU and China RoHS compliance (EFUP 15 years)
  • Hazardous Area Approvals (Option 05): CSA, ATEX, and IECEx certifications for Class I Zone 0/1/2 and Division 1/2 environments (intrinsically safe and non-incendive ratings).
  • Functional Safety: SIL 2 (HFT = 0), SIL 3 (HFT = 1) compatible when used in properly configured safety systems.

Bently Nevada 330703-000-026-10-01-05 3300 XL 11 mm Proximity Probe

What does the '01' connector and cable-type option signify for this probe?

The Option 01 code designates that this probe is supplied with a miniature coaxial ClickLoc connector pre-installed with a fluorosilicone connector protector on a standard 75 ohm triaxial cable.

What are the thread and armor specifications of the 330703 probe?

The 330703 base model indicates a metric M14 x 1.5 thread without armor, allowing direct installation in machinery with metric tapping without the bulk of protective metal casing.

How are the unthreaded and case length dimensions defined on this configuration?

This specific configuration (330703-000-026-10-01-05) has 0 mm of unthreaded length (Option 000) and an overall case length of 26 mm (Option 026).

Can this 1.0 meter probe be connected directly to a 3300 XL Proximitor Sensor?

The 1.0 meter probe requires a matching 3300 XL 11 mm extension cable (such as 330730) to achieve the total system length of 5.0 or 9.0 meters required by the Proximitor.
