Description

330909-00-20-10-01-05: 3300 NSv Proximity Probe configured with a 3/8-24 UNF-2A thread, stainless steel armor, 0.0 inches unthreaded case length, 2.0 inches overall case length, 1.0 meter total length, miniature ClickLoc coaxial connector with connector protector, and multiple hazardous area approvals.

This 3300 NSv eddy-current probe is used in limited clearance and narrow target applications where standard 8 mm probes are unsuitable. The integrated AISI 302 stainless steel armor provides robust mechanical protection for the FEP insulated cable in demanding industrial environments. Equipped with a ClickLoc connector and a fluorosilicone connector protector, it ensures secure coaxial coupling and protection against environmental contaminants like oil and moisture.

Features

  • Thread type: 3/8-24 UNF-2A threaded case matching imperial standard mount installations.
  • Unthreaded case length: 0.0 inches (Option 00) for fully threaded case configurations.
  • Overall case length: 2.0 inches (Option 20) case profile.
  • Total length: 1.0 meter (Option 10) integrated cable.
  • Mechanical protection: Integrated flexible AISI 302 stainless steel armor for heavy-duty industrial environments.
  • Connector configuration: Miniature coaxial ClickLoc connector with fluorosilicone connector protector (Option 01).
  • Safety approvals: Multiple approvals (Option 05) including ATEX, IECEx, and CSA certifications for hazardous zones.

Applications

  • Non-contact shaft vibration and axial position measurement on rotating machinery with narrow target areas.
  • Small-bore machinery, high-speed gearboxes, and aeroderivative gas turbines.
  • Tight-clearance applications with counterbores as small as 9.5 mm (0.375 in).
  • Radial vibration and axial position measurements on shaft diameters smaller than 30 mm (1.2 in).

Installation Guidelines

Ensure the probe is gapped correctly to 1.0 mm (40 mils) using the appropriate DC voltage output (-9.0 Vdc nominal) from the Proximitor sensor. During installation of the armored probe, maintain a minimum bend radius of 25.4 mm (1.0 in) for the armored cable. To prevent cross-talk when multiple probes are installed in parallel, maintain a minimum separation of 25 mm (1.0 in) between probe tips for axial position measurements, or 23 mm (0.9 in) for radial vibration measurements. Tighten 3/8-24 probe cases to a maximum recommended torque of 11.3 N m (100 in-lb).

Compliance and Certifications

The 3300 NSv Transducer System carries certifications under hazardous area approvals when specified with the Option 05 package, including:

  • CSA/NRTL/C: Class I, Zone 0, AEx/Ex ia IIC T4/T5 Ga; Class I, Division 2, Groups A, B, C, D
  • ATEX/IECEx: Ex ia IIC T4/T5 Ga, Ex ia IIIC T90degC...T280degC Dc; Ex nA IIC T4/T5 Gc, Ex ec IIC T4/T5 Gc
  • Functional Safety: Certified for use in SIL 2 applications (HFT = 0) or SIL 3 applications (HFT = 1)
  • CE Mark: European EMC Directive 2014/30/EU and RoHS Directive 2011/65/EU

FAQ

What does the configuration 330909-00-20-10-01-05 specify for this probe?

This orderable configuration specifies a 3300 NSv probe with a 3/8-24 UNF threaded case, stainless steel armor, 0.0 inches unthreaded length, 2.0 inches case length, 1.0 meter total cable length, miniature ClickLoc connector with a connector protector, and multiple agency approvals.

Why does the 330909 probe include stainless steel armor?

The integrated flexible AISI 302 stainless steel armor provides robust mechanical protection for the coaxial cable against abrasion, cutting, and physical damage in harsh machinery environments.

What is the target clearance application for a 3300 NSv proximity probe?

The 3300 NSv (No Side-view) system is engineered for machinery with extremely tight mounting clearances, small shaft diameters, or narrow target areas where standard 8 mm probes experience side-view interference.

Is a connector protector included with this probe model?

Yes. The Option 01 connector configuration includes a pre-installed fluorosilicone connector protector on the coaxial cable to prevent moisture and fluid ingress.
