Description

The General Electric IC670MDL233 is an 8-point isolated discrete input module designed for the GE Field Control distributed I/O architecture. This module provides reliable monitoring of 120VAC industrial input devices, converting alternating current field signals into digital data suitable for system processing. Operating within a 0 to 132VAC input range at 47 to 63 Hz, it incorporates internal resistor-capacitor networks and optoisolators to deliver robust noise filtering and complete electrical isolation between field circuits and system logic.

Power for internal module operation is supplied directly via the backplane from a compatible Bus Interface Unit (BIU), drawing a maximum of 40 mA. External input devices require a separate 120VAC power source. Real-time status indication is provided by individual front-panel LEDs for each input point alongside a dedicated power (PWR) LED that confirms backplane power availability. The module communicates its 8 bits of discrete input data to the host or local processor through the system BIU.
