Description
The General Electric IC693MDL330 is an 8-point discrete AC output module designed for use within the Series 90-30 Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) platform. Operating at 120/240 volts AC, this module provides reliable switching capabilities for industrial automation environments. It features two isolated groups of four output points each, with a separate common associated with every group. Because the internal commons are not tied together, individual groups can operate on different phases of an AC supply or be powered by independent supplies.
Each group is internally protected by a 5 amp fuse, and built-in RC snubbers protect each output against transient electrical noise generated on power lines. The module supports a high inrush current rating of up to 10 times the rated current, making it ideal for controlling demanding inductive and incandescent loads. LED status indicators at the top of the module provide clear visual feedback for point status, alongside a dedicated blown-fuse indicator.
Features
- Provides 8 output points arranged in two isolated groups of 4 points each
- Compatible with 120/240 VAC nominal operating voltages (85 to 264 VAC range)
- Independent commons allow isolation between different AC phases or power sources
- Integrated 5 amp fusing per common group for enhanced circuit protection
- Built-in RC snubbers on every output to suppress transient electrical noise
- High inrush current capacity (20 amps maximum for one cycle) to drive inductive and incandescent loads safely
- Upper row of 8 green LED indicators for real-time output point status monitoring
- Red blown-fuse indicator (F) for immediate fault identification
- Mounts directly into any I/O slot of a 5-slot or 10-slot baseplate in a Series 90-30 system
Applications
- Controlling AC relay coils, solenoids, and magnetic motor starters
- Switching industrial indicator lamps and incandescent pilot lights
- Interfacing PLC logic with high-voltage field actuators
- Multi-phase industrial control panels requiring isolated output groups

Connections / Interfaces
- Field Wiring Terminal Block: Removable front terminal style accommodating user field wiring connections
- Module Front Door: Hinged door featuring internal circuit wiring diagrams and an outside write-on label surface
- Color Coding: Red left-edge insert identifying the unit as a high-voltage module
- Backplane Connector: Standard Series 90-30 bus connector for power and data communication
Installation Guidelines
- Ensure all external AC power sources are disconnected before installing or removing the module.
- Insert the module securely into any available I/O slot on a 5-slot or 10-slot Series 90-30 baseplate.
- Verify that field wiring connected to terminals aligns with the internal group isolation requirements to prevent overvoltage conditions.
- Observe ambient operating temperature derating curves when loading groups near their maximum 4 amp limit.
