The HIMA F2 DO 8 01 (also designated as F2DO801) is a compact, safety-related remote I/O unit housed in a metal enclosure and featuring 8 safety-related relay outputs. Designed for safety shutdown applications up to SIL 3, the F2 DO 8 01 extends the I/O capacity of HIMax and HIMatrix controllers over safeethernet communication.

Each output channel on the F2 DO 8 01 (F2DO801) incorporates two safety relays with forcibly guided contacts and one standard relay, providing potential-free normally open contact operation. The module operates on 24 VDC power and features an integrated 2-port Ethernet switch for network integration.

Features

  • HIMA F2 DO 8 01 (F2DO801) contains 8 safety-related relay outputs with potential-free normally open contacts.
  • Integrated Ethernet switch with two RJ-45 ports supporting safeethernet communication at 10/100 Mbit/s.
  • Relay outputs feature forcibly guided safety contacts and individual internal 3.15 A fuses.
  • Compatible with SILworX (OS version 7 and beyond) and ELOP II Factory (OS versions prior to 7).
  • Compact metal enclosure designed for 35 mm DIN rail mounting with IP20 protection class.
  • Certified for installation in Ex-Zone 2 hazardous locations.
  • Onboard diagnostic LED indicators for power supply, processor status, communication, and individual output channels.

Applications

  • Safety shutdown systems in process automation
  • Remote I/O expansion for HIMax and HIMatrix safety controllers
  • Hazardous area control applications requiring Ex-Zone 2 compliance

Installation Guidelines

  • Mount the module on a standard 35 mm DIN rail within a protective enclosure.
  • Provide 24 VDC power from a SELV or PELV power supply unit with safe isolation according to IEC 61131-2, protected by an external 10 A time-lag fuse.
  • For Ex-Zone 2 installations, mount inside an enclosure achieving at least IP54 protection according to EN 60529 and capable of dissipating heat (power dissipation 18 W to 46 W).
  • When connecting DC switching voltages, fit an external fuse rated for the maximum permissible current in the contact circuit.
  • Use double or reinforced insulated cabling when switching voltages higher than SELV or PELV.
  • Ensure electrostatic discharge protective measures are observed, including using an ESD wrist strap during installation or replacement.
