The module contains a Motorola 68360 Quad Integrated Communication Controller operating at 25 MHz. Its architecture includes dedicated flash memory, battery-backed local RAM, and shared RAM for communication with the FSC control processor. A Motorola 68824 token bus controller and Motorola 68194 carrierband modem support the UCN communication function.
An isolated redundant communication link connects the FSC system to TPS through front connections A and B. After power-up, the application program is automatically downloaded from the FSC control processor into local RAM.
The module can operate as COM1, COM2, COM3, or COM4. The required COM position is configured through board jumpers J1 and J2.
