This specific configuration stands out due to its fully threaded 3.8-inch case (0.0-inch unthreaded length) and an extended 9.0-meter (29.5 feet) total length. By opting for the 9.0-meter cable, the probe is routed directly to a 9-meter Proximitor sensor without the need for an intermediate extension cable, reducing connection points and potential signal degradation in harsh monitoring environments. This unarmored probe comes equipped with standard miniature ClickLoc coaxial connectors and is certified for general purpose installations where hazardous area approvals are not required.

Connections and Interfaces

This probe connects directly to the monitoring instrument chain via its integrated coaxial cable. The gold-plated male connector pairs tightly to prevent signal attenuation.

Installation Guidelines

• Clean the mounting threads thoroughly before screwing the probe into place.
• Ensure proper spacing by setting the static probe gap per calibration instructions. The recommended target gap is -9 Vdc, which corresponds to approximately 1.27 mm (50 mils) of distance from the AISI 4140 steel target.
• Do not exceed the maximum rated installation torque of 22.6 Nm (200 in-lbf) for standard forward-mounted probes. The first three threads should be tightened to a maximum of 7.5 Nm (66 in-lbf).
• Route the FEP-insulated coaxial cable carefully inside dedicated industrial conduits or trays. Maintain a minimum bend radius of 25.4 mm (1.0 in) to prevent jacket shearing or conductor damage.
